How I Made Doritos Ice Cream

It takes a lot of research to come up with someone as insane as Doritos Ice Cream. Here’s how I did it. Recipe Below.

Recipe
Ice Cream
1 bag of Doritos chips
4 cups of whole milk
½ cup of condensed milk
1 tablespoon of gelatin
½ cup of water

Waffle Cone
1 cup of crushed Doritos
1 cup of all purpose flour
¼ teaspoon of salt
3 eggs
½ cup of sugar
½ stick of butter melted
¼ cup of milk
1 teaspoon of food coloring

Ice Cream
Step 1
Combine the bag of doritos with the whole milk and let steep for about 30 minutes.

Step 2
Measure out 2 cups of the steeped milk and add it to a stand mixer. Begin to whisk, carefully adding the condensed milk. While the milk mixes, combine the gelatin with the water and let bloom.
Step 3
Warm the gelatin until liquified in the microwave. SLowly add a stream of the gelatin mixture to the milk while it continues to mix. Add the contents of the bowl to a bread pan and put it in the freezer.

Waffle Cone
Step 1
Combine the crushed Doritos with the all purpose flour, salt and sugar. In a separate bowl, combine the milk, eggs and butter.
Step 2
Slowly add the wet ingredients to the dry and form a batter. Add a bit of orange food gel in order to make it Dorito orange in color.
Step 3
Add a small amount of the batter to a waffle cone maker. When its cooked, take it out and fold it before it cools and hardens.
Step 4
Scoop ice cream into cone and garnish with crushed Doritos.
